Uzbekistan cancelled the government contract on grain crops

On March 9, the authorities of Uzbekistan published the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the large-scale implementation of market principles in the production, purchasing and selling of grains". In particular, starting from the harvest-2020 Uzbekistan will start gradually cancelling the activity of grain production on basis of the government contract.

According to the document, by 2021 the government of the country will completely withdraw from fixing the prices of grains. In addition, Uzbekistan will completely cancel the state purchases of grains, while farmers and other enterprises will be allowed to sell their products at free-of-control prices.

Also, on March 6 the President of Uzbekistan signed the decree "On measures for the large-scale implementation of market principles in the sphere of cottonseed production", which gradually cancels the government contract on cottonseed.
