For the remaining four months of 2019/20 MY (March-June), Russia can ship nearly 9.4 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, declared the Head of the analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky, on March 10.

The forecasted figures exceed the results of the same period last year by 1 mln tonnes. Increasing of grain sales by agrarians before beginning of the planting campaign, and weakening of the RUR/USD exchange rates, are the factors contributing to the further growth of shipments. In particular, in March 2020 grain exports (without the supplies to the EAEU countries) will reach 2.9-3 mln tonnes, as opposed to 2.6 mln tonnes in March 2019. Also, in April 2020 the shipments will exceed the last year level — 2.4-2.5 mln tonnes, against 2 mln tonnes in April 2019.

At the same time, I.Pavensky forecasted increasing of wheat exports in the remaining months of the season — to nearly 6.5 mln tonnes, against 5.7 mln tonnes in March-June last year.

As a result, in 2019/20 MY the exports of grains and pulses from Russia will total 41.8 mln tonnes, against 45.4 mln tonnes last season, including 32.7 mln tonnes of wheat, as opposed to 35.8 mln tonnes, respectively.
