Within frames of the monitoring realized by APK-Inform experts, the majority of agricultural producers of Sumy and Poltava oblasts brought up fears about the possible winterkill of winter crops, including winter wheat and barley, due to the current cold weather conditions in the reporting regions.
According to agrarians, the low air temperatures observed for several recent days at night and the absence of snow cover can cause the partial frost-killing, and development of various diseases in the future.
As a reminder, agrarians of Sumy oblast planted winter grains for the harvest-2020 throughout almost 150 thsd ha, and Poltava oblast — more than 245 thsd ha.
