According to the recent Rosstat figures, in the first half of 2019/20 MY (September-February) Russian oilseed crushing plants produced the record volumes of crude sunflower oil — 3.05 mln tonnes, an increase of 24% compared with the same period last season, and up 17% compared with the previous maximum fixed in the first half of 2016/17 MY.
APK-Inform analysts noted that the significantly increased supply of sunflower seed and the attractive prices of the oilseed on the domestic market contributed to the further growth of utilization rates of the processing capacities and the production volumes of sunflower oil.
In addition, the high shipment rates of Russian sunflower oil on foreign markets in terms of the favourable price conditions in the first half of the season-2019/20 also contributed to the growth of production volumes of the commodity.
