Russia: as of March 1, grain stocks totaled over 17 mln tonnes — Center of Agricultural Analytics

According to the recent Rosstat figures, as of March 1, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural organizations of Russia (without small-scale enterprises) totaled more than 17.25 mln tonnes, up 2.32 mln tonnes, or 15.5%, compared with the level of 2019, declared the Federal State-Funded Institution "Center of Agricultural Analytics" under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on March 27.

In particular, the stocks of wheat in agricultural organizations totaled almost 8.23 mln tonnes (up 1 mln tonnes, or up 13.8%), corn — almost 2.42 mln tonnes (up 0.51 mln tonnes, or up 26.7%).

At the same time, the largest stocks of all types of grains and wheat in particular in agricultural organizations were observed in the Central Federal District — 5.09 mln tonnes and 2.16 mln tonnes, respectively. Also, the Central Federal District demonstrated the largest increase of grain stocks compared with the last year level — up 0.90 mln tonnes, and the Southern Federal District significantly increased wheat stocks — up 0.57 mln tonnes.

In addition, as of March 1 wheat stocks in agricultural organizations of three southern regions (Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, Rostov oblast) and four regions of the Central Black Earth region (Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh and Tambov oblasts) exceeded the last year level by 40%, and totaled 3.16 mln tonnes.
