Export of Russian grains declined by almost 6% by the mid-June

Within the period from June 1, 2019 to June 11, 2020, Russia exported 40.2 mln tonnes of grains, down 5.8% compared to the same period year ago, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, referring to the operational figures of the regions on June 26.

Particularly, the export of wheat totaled 32.2 mln tonnes, down 7.6%, barley – 3.9 mln tonnes, down 14.9%, other crops – 0.3 mln tonnes, down 54.9%.

“This season, Turkey – 9 mln tonnes (22% out of total exported volume), Egypt – 6 mln tonnes (15%), Bangladesh – 2.1 mln tonnes (5%), Saudi Arabia – 1.5 mln tonnes (4%) and Azerbaijan – 1.4 mln tonnes (4%) were the key importers of Russian grains”. – was stated in the message.
