In 2019/20 MY, Ukraine produced and exported the record volumes of wheat and corn. At the same time, Ukraine has not fully realized its export potential though it uses all opportunities gave by the global market, declared the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA), Mykola Gorbachev.

“We opened the new markets. For example, in 2019/20 MY, Ukraine shipped wheat to Ecuador for the first time. The new redistribution of markets is taking place now, and the performance of such international organizations was the WTO is changing, the geopolitical situation and relations between countries are changing as well. Ukraine is trying and have to capture the full benefits”, - he supposed.

The development of the market in the second half of 2019/20 MY proved the importance of Ukraine as a reliable partner on the global scene.

“To my mind, despite any crisis in Ukraine and the world, the food supply from Ukraine will continue to go abroad and will grow further along with the role of the country as a subject granting global food security”, - M.Gorbachev shared his assurance.

He pointed out that the agricultural sector turned to one of the drivers of Ukrainian economy in the context of global depression caused by the pandemic, providing the inflow of currency.
