Russia: as of July 1, grain stocks exceeded 13 mln tonnes

As of July 1, 2020, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural, harvesting and processing organizations of the Russian Federation totaled 13.4 mln tonnes, a decrease of 25.3% compared with the figures on the same date in 2019, declared the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

At the same time, the carry-over stocks of grains in agricultural organizations declined by 2.7 mln tonnes (down 26.5%) to 7.6 mln tonnes. Harvesting and processing organizations decreased the figures by 1.8 mln tonnes (down 23.7%) — to 5.8 mln tonnes.

In particular, wheat stocks totaled 7.4 mln tonnes, down 4.5 mln tonnes (or 37.7%) compared with the same date in 2019, including grain harvesting and processing organizations — 3.7 mln tonnes (down 32.8%), and agricultural enterprises — 3.7 mln tonnes (down 41.8%).

In addition, rye stocks reduced by 44.1% — to 133 thsd tonnes, oats — 80 thsd tonnes (down 31.1%), and buckwheat — 67 thsd tonnes (down 30.2%).

At the same time, as of the beginning of the reporting month barley stocks in grain harvesting and processing organizations increased to 1 mln tonnes (up 18.2% y-o-y), corn — 649 thsd tonnes (up 6.6%), rice — 41 thsd tonnes (up 86.7%), and millet — 9 thsd tonnes (up 4.8 times).
