Ukrainian seaports significantly increased export of rapeseed in August

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of August 1-31, 2020, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports reached 1.3 mln tonnes, an increase of 65% compared with the previous month volumes (776 thsd tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of rapeseed and by-products formed the major share in the structure of supplies, and totaled 858 thsd tonnes, including 851 thsd tonnes of rapessed (up by nearly 4 times) and 7 thsd tonens of rapeseed meal.

Export of sunflower seed by-products reached 421 thsd tonnes, including 296 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (-21.9%) and 126 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal.

Export of soybean meal decreased by 5 times to 3 thsd tonnes.

The Netherlands (484 thsd tonnes), China (149 thsd tonnes) and France (117 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in August.

In 2019/20 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (6.01 mln tonnes) still remained the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (2.74 mln tonnes) and Sea Commercial Port of Pivdennyj (2.28 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions, respectively.
