Kazakhstan cut wheat export and increased flour shipments

According to APK-Inform, Kazakhstan exported 685 thsd tonnes of wheat in two months of 2020/21 MY, down 7% compared to the same period of the preceding season. At the same time, wheat flour export increased by 13% to 235 thsd tonnes in July-August.

Kazakhstan reduced wheat export to Russia and China to 31 thsd tonnes (down 4.2 times) and 15.4 thsd tonnes (down 4 times) correspondingly in July-August of 2020/21 MY.

Afghanistan remained the leading importer of Kazakh wheat flour. The country imported 156 thsd tonnes of the product, up 51 thsd tonnes (49%) compared to July-August of 2019/20 MY. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan increase import of Kazakh flour to 13 thsd tonnes (up 2.1 times) and 7.2 thsd tonnes (up 1.6 times)  correspondingly.

APK-Inform forecast that Kazakhstan will export 4.5 mln tonnes of wheat and 1.2 mln tonnes of wheat flour in 2020/21 MY, down by 3.2% and 19.6% correspondingly compared to 2019/20 MY.
