Ukraine exported nearly 1 mln tonnes of oilseeds and by-products in September

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of September 1-30, 2020, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports reached 986 thsd tonnes, a decrease of 23.4% compared with the previous month volumes (1.3 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of rapeseed formed the major share in the structure of supplies, and totaled 575 thsd tonnes, down 11% compared to the preceding month. Ukraine did not export rapeseed oil and meal in September.

Export of sunflower seed and by-products reached 350 thsd tonnes, including 251 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (-15.2%), 94 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal (-27.7%) and 5 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (no export in August).

Export of soybean and by-products totaled 61 thsd tonnes, including 54 thsd tonnes of soybean and 7 thsd tonnes of soybean meal, up 2 times compared to August.

Belgium (329 thsd tonnes), the Netherlands (146 thsd tonnes) and India (89 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in September.

In 2020/21 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (328 thsd tonnes) was the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (300 thsd tonnes) and Odessa Commercial Sea Port (177 thsd tonnes) took the second and third positions, respectively.
