Annually, Kazakhstan decreases wheat flour export by about 8%. However, the country remains the second largest flout exporter in the world, declared the Head of Business project unit with APK-Inform, Andriy Kupchenko within KAZAKHSTAN GRAIN CONFERENCE 2020: ONLINE EDITION organized by APK-Inform on November 26.
“This year, lower export is based on the pandemic. However, the consumers are shifting to wheat import for further inner processing”, - he explained.
Russia is the main competitor for Kazakhstan on the market of wheat. Russia covers 20% of global demand for wheat.
“The overall export of three main products - wheat, wheat flour and barley - totaled 7.6 mln tonnes from Kazakhstan in last season. While Russia shipped abroad 38.4 mln tonnes of these goods. Traditionally, the neighbor countries (Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iran and China) were the main destinations for Kazakh products. At the same time, TOP importers of Russian products included Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia as well as Iran and China”, - the expert said.
