The EU has imported 876.46 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil since the start of the current season and as of December 31, down from 1.05 mln tonnes in the same period of the last year, informed the European Commission.
Ukraine remained to be the key supplier of sunflower oil to the EU in 2020/21 MY. It exported 772.34 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to the EU. Thus, the share of Ukrainian product totaled 88.1% in the overall volume imported by the EU in the current season.
Additionally, Serbia supplied 47.88 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to the EU since the start of 2020/21 MY, Moldova - 36.3 thsd tonnes, Russia - 4.64 thds tonnes, Morocco - 3.98 thsd tonnes.
