Ukrainian seaports cut shipments of sunflower oil by 1.6 times in December

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of December 1-31, 2020, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports reached 1.35 mln tonnes, down 22.7% compared with the previous month volumes (1.75 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of sunflower seed and by-products formed the major share in the structure of supplies and totaled 1.05 mln tonnes, including 503 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (down 1.6 times), 522 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal (up 1.7 times) and 28 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (down 1.9 times).

Export of soybean totaled 148 thsd tonnes, down 1.9 times. There was no export of soybean oil and meal.

Export of rapeseed and by-products reached 151 thsd tonnes, including 146 thsd tonnes of rapeseed (down 1.8 times) and 5 thsd tonnes of rapeseed meal, down 29.7%. There was no export of rapeseed oil in December.

China (383.9 thsd tonnes), India (188 thsd tonnes) and Turkey (144.2 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in December.

In 2020/21 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (2.6 mln tonnes) was the leader in the exports of major grain crops. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (1.12 mln tonnes) and Yuzhny  Sea Port (708 thsd tonnes) took the second and third positions respectively.
