According to APK-Inform, Ukrainian seaports cut significantly export volumes of major grain crops in 2020. The seaports transshipped 50 mln tonnes of grains in 2020, down by 6.2 mln tonnes (-11%) compared to 2019.
Corn export totaled 27.5 mln tonnes (55% of the general volumes), down by 4.4 mln tonnes (-14%) compared to 2019.
Wheat transshipment declined by 2.2 mln tonnes (-11%) to 17.7 mln tonnes. At the same time, export of barley increased by 0.5 mln tonnes (+11%) to 4.8 mln tonnes.
Ukraine shipped more than 3 mln tonnes of wheat to Egypt in 2020. It remained to be the largest destination for Ukrainian wheat. Shipment volumes of corn and barley to China increased notably in 2020. It moved to the first position among importers of Ukrainian corn (7.1 mln tonnes) and barley (2.5 mln tonnes).
