The Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and market participants agreed on the limit volume of corn export in 2020/21 MY at 24 mln tonnes. The corresponding amendments will be added to the Memorandum on mutual understanding, informed the press-service of the Ministry on January 25.

Besides, the parties agreed to revise the limit export volume when necessary, after the publication of official statistical data on corn production in Ukraine in 2020.

“Currently, forecasted corn crop is 30.3 mln tonnes. It is one of the best crop ever. The Ministry supposes that there are no problems with export of corn or supply to the domestic market”, - the Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture, Ihor Petrashko commented.
“Ukraine has the necessary volume of corn to cover domestic consumption. The Ministry does not see any risks for the development of plant-growing and livestock industry, provision of the domestic market with compound feed and fulfilment of export contracts”, - was stated in the message.
