Ukrainian Agri Council that unifies more than 800 small and middle agricultural enterprises, finds unacceptable an implementation either quotas or any other restrictions on export of agricultural products from Ukraine.

“Quota on export of sunflower seed and sunflower oil in the amount of 0 tonnes is a total ban on export in itself. UAG is totally against this decision that will result in decline of purchasing prices of agricultural products, losses to farmers, decline of land rent charges”, - they says.

UAG reminded that there have already been quotas on export of grains, sunflower seed and sunflower oil in Ukraine. They resulted in “decline of purchasing prices and corruption in the allocation of quotas”.

“We urge the Ukrainian government not to implement the quotas on export of sunflower seed and sunflower oil, but to provide a food safety and price stability via trade and financial interventions”, - they summarized.
