Ukraine covered 2/3 of total corn volume imported to China in March




In the first half of 2020/21 MY, China was the leading importer of Ukrainian corn. It bought nearly 7 mln tonnes of the grain.

In March, Ukraine shipped about 1.3 mln tonnes of corn to China, or 48% of the total exported volume of the grain. In March, supplies of Ukrainian corn to China exceeded the year ago volume by 56%.

Reuters says, China imported 1.9 mln tonnes of corn in March. Thus, the share of Ukraine amounted to 66% in the overall corn import last month.   

According to APK-Inform, Ukraine exported 15.9 mln tonnes of corn in October-March, down 26% year-on-year. 44% of the total volume was shipped to China.

APK-Inform says, Ukraine will export 23.2 mln tonnes of corn in 2020/21 MY.
