The export of Russian wheat will remain the record high this season, despite the sharp decline of grain shipments in the last months, declared the Head of the analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky.

Russia exported 34.5 mln tonnes of wheat (excluding shipments to the EAEU) during the period from July 1, 2020 to April 18, 2021, up from 29.8 mln tonnes exported over the same period of the preceding season (+16%).

“This is the maximum volume ever exported. It is higher than the previous record reached over the same period of 2017/18 MY (33.5 mln tonnes)”, - I.Pavensky said.

Rusagrotrans says Russia has exported 43 mln tonnes of grains since the start of the season, up by 6.7 mln tonnes compared to the preceding MY.

“We expect Russia will export 1.7 mln tonnes of grains in April, including 0.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 0.6 mln tonnes of barley and 0.3 mln tonnes of corn”, - the expert added.
