The production of grain and oilseed crops will reach 96.2 mln tonnes in Ukraine in 2021, up sizably from 84 mln tonnes in 2020, Ukrainian Grain Association says.
“Higher crops will be based on favorable wintering of winter crops and good weather conditions for both spring planting campaign and further growth and vegetation of crops. If weather assists, Ukraine will have one of the best crops ever. The export of grains and oilseed will reach 59.8 mln tonnes, up from 46.8 mln tonnes this season”, - UGA says.
The production of wheat will reach 27.7 mln tonnes (25.3 mln tonnes in 2020/21 MY), that will let to export 21 mln tonnes. At the same time, UGA lowered its forecast of Ukrainian wheat export this season from 17.5 mln tonnes to 16 mln tonnes due to the global market development.
“Corn crop will amount to 35.5 mln tonnes (30 mln tonnes in 2020/21 MY), and its export will reach 30 mln tonnes. Corn export will be as low as 22 mln tonnes in 2020/21 MY”, - the experts forecast.
