As of April 30, Belarusian agrarians planted early grains and pulses (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) throughout the areas of 752.7 thsd ha or 102.1% of the plan (737.1 thsd ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.
In particular, the expected planted area was exceeded in Grodno (111.1%), Brest (104.8%), Gomel (104.5%) and Minsk (103.6%) oblasts. Farmers of Mogilev oblast planted spring crops throughout 100% of the plan, Vitebsk oblast — 91.4%.
Agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 104 thsd ha (37.8%).
Farmers planted sugar beet throughout 79.6 thsd ha (87.9%), spring rapeseed — 29.4 thsd ha (73%).
Generally, Belarus planted spring agricultural crops throughout the areas of 1.31 mln ha or 52.5% of the plan (2.498 mln ha).
