The Project Manager of the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS, FAO), Denis Drechsler will make a presentation within the grain section “Global trends and Ukrainian realities” at Grain&Maritime Days in Odessa 2021.
The speaker will make the presentation on Global food market outlook: an AMIS perspective.
“While supply and demand fundamentals concerning basic food crops point to a generally comfortable market situation, the steep rise in international prices of most agricultural commodities, coupled with food inflation in some countries, necessitates a more prudent interpretation of how food markets are evolving”, - D. Drechsler says.
Thus, the expert will provide an overview of global food markets from the perspective of the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS).
Moreover, D.Drechsler will present an initiative launched by the G20 to enhance food market transparency and policy coordination.
D.Drechsler is the Project Manager at FAO. He leads the development and delivery of arrangements for the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS). Prior to joining FAO, he coordinated communications work and political dialogue at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD).
