Russian Hydrometcenter cut its forecast of Russian grain crop of the harvest-2021 by 3 mln tonnes to 121 mln tonnes in clean weight. It is 11 mln tonnes lower than the year ago.
The downward revision was made due to the drought and other unfavorable weather conditions observed in Russia.
“There was the air drought in some regions of Central and Volga FDs in July. In southern regions, the air drought was combined with the soil drought. At the same time, heavy rains resulted in crop lodging across some regions of Southern and North Caucasian FDs, in Central FD, eastern parts of Volga FD”, - said the Head of Hydrometcenter, Roman Vilfand.
