Russia: share of 1-4-grade wheat exceeded 86%

As of August 30, the common share of 1-4-grades wheat increased to 86.4% in the structure of harvested wheat in Russia (84.2% the week ago), still up compared to the same date of 2020 (71.7%), reported the Federal State-Funded Institution "Federal Centre of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain products".

The experts examined 23.9 mln tonnes of soft wheat (40.6% out of the total harvested volume as of reporting date) in 32 regions of Russia.

Particularly, the share of 1-grade wheat totaled 0.01% (0.002% in 2020). The share of 2-grade wheat totaled 0.1% (0.1%), 3-grade wheat – 43.5% (33.1%), 4-grade wheat – 42.8% (40.3%), and 5-grade wheat – 13.6% (27.3%).

As to barley, the experts examined 2.7 mln tonnes of the grain (28.4% out of the total harvested volume) in 21 regions. The share of 1-grade barley totaled 17.6% (29.3% in 2020), 2-grade barley – 23.6% (34.6%), 3-grade barley – 58.8% (40.3%).

Moreover, the experts examined 0.5 mln tonnes of rye (or 45.7% of the harvested volume) in 15 regions. The share of 1-grades rye totaled 40.5% (39.2% in 2020), 2-grade rye – 36.8% (26.3%), 3-grade rye – 18% (22.8%).
