Egypt increases wheat import in September

According to the statistics data of Egyptian trade and transportation company LATT, Egypt increased wheat import to 755.3 thsd tonnes in September 1-8, up sharply from 165.9 thsd tonnes in the same period the month ago. Moreover, it nearly matched the result of August (877.8 thsd tonnes).  

The main volumes of wheat were supplied from Russia (347.8 thsd tonnes), Ukraine (281.4 thsd tonnes) and Romania (126 thsd tonnes).

In the recent tenders of GACS, Egypt preferred to contract Ukrainian and Romanian. GASC bought 300 thsd tonnes of wheat of Ukrainian and Romanian origin in the last tender.
