According to APK-Inform, Russia exported 2.6 mln tonnes of grains and pulses in July (including supplies to the EAEU), down 24% compared to the same month of 2020/21 MY (3.4 mln tonnes).
Particularly, wheat export decreased by 21% to 1.8 mln tonnes. Turkey, Egypt and Tanzania were the key destinations for Russian wheat. Their common share totaled 47% or 871.3 thsd tonnes.
Barley export declined by 29% to 505.7 thsd tonnes. TOP-3 importers included Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Jordan with the common share of 71%.
Corn export lowered to 134.3 thsd tonnes only, down by 46% year-on-year, as the export duty on corn became valid. Turkey, Greece and Cyprus were the largest buyers with the common share of 44% or 59.7 thsd tonnes.
APK-Inform forecasts Russia to cut grain production by 10% to 120.7 mln tonnes in 2021/22 MY. However, high carry-over stocks of wheat and corn will allow to form the export potential of grains at 46.7 mln tonnes in 2021/22 MY, down 5% compared to 2020/21 MY (48.9 mln tonnes).
