Ukraine faced lack of precipitations in the second ten-day period of December

In the second ten-day period of December, a lack of precipitations was observed across the entire territory of Ukraine, informed Ukrhydrometcenter.

“Insignificant precipitations were observed only in the last days of the reporting period, However, some regions of southern, eastern and western remained dry”, – the report said.

In the regions, where the average temperatures were below +5°С , the active growing processes stopped. Across the rest of the regions, mainly southern and western parts of the country, the winter crops were vegetating slowly.

“Conditions of plants were mainly good and satisfactory. Across some parts of central and eastern regions, barley was too thin due to drought”, – the experts said.
