Hungary imported 327 tonnes of Ukrainian corn seeds in January-October 2021. The country turned into the largest buyer of Ukrainian corn seeds among European countries, declared Siuzana Grygorenko, Executive Director of Seed Association of Ukraine (SAU) within Seed Forum – 2021 on December 2.
“Supplies to other European countries were a bit smaller. Austria bought 219 tonnes of Ukrainian seeds, Germany – 195 tonnes, Romania – 182 tonnes, Poland – 163 tonnes, France – 65 tonnes and Serbia – 56 tonnes”, – she added.
S. Grygorenko said that Ukraine had exported more than 1.2 thsd tonnes of corn seeds to the EU in January-October. The share of corn in the overall structure of seeds export amounted to 75%.
She informed that Ukraine managed to raise seeds export to the EU due to the recognition of the equivalence of the Ukrainian seeds certification system to the EU requirements.
