According to APK-Inform, oilseed processing enterprises located out of zone of military activity resumed purchases of sunflower seed.
Some market operators inform about higher number of sunflower seed offers. Mainly, farmers offer batches of sunflower seed with volumes starting from 20 tonnes. At the same time, some processing plants form the central region say that it is almost impossible to purchase sunflower seed.
As of March 11, the purchasing prices are varying at 18500-20500 UAH/t CPT, down 1800-2800 UAH/t compared to the time before the invasion of Russia in Ukraine.
Lower prices are mainly based on lower demand, as the number of processing plants decreased or stopped purchases. Moreover, the supply of sunflower seed is high in Ukraine. Additionally, unclear prospects of sunflower oil export keep on pressuring the prices.
