The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine together with Hydrometcenter suppose that the weather provides Ukrainian farmers with a time space.
“Even under normal situation, we would not be able to start mass planting campaign at the current moment due to the soil freezing. The mass planting will start in late March, in some oblasts – in early April. The exact date will depend on the pace of warming and the amount of precipitations”, – the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leschenko said.
The weather allows accumulating resources, organizing works and still meeting the optimal planting window.
As to the winter crops, R. Leschenko said that February was quite warm. Today, crops remain in dormancy with no risks of winterkilling.
