Spring planting campaign is carrying out on 2% of the territory of Ukraine, as the weather turned to more favorable. Farmers are quite well prepared for the field works, said the deputy minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky.
“The planting campaign has already been started. Farmers are planting early crops – wheat and oats. Soon, they will start planting vegetables”, – he said.
T. Vysotsky added that the farmers across territories free from military activity were ready to plant to provide Ukraine with food.
“Ukraine has about 30 mln ha of arable lands. Part of them are mined. However, this area is not critical for the planting campaign and provision of food security of Ukraine and import-depending countries”, – he summarized.
