In 2021/22 MY, Ukraine will export about 47 mln tonnes of grains, while the initial plan was to ship 70 mln tonnes, Mykola Gorbachev, president of Ukrainian Grain Association, said.

He does not expect unblocking of Ukrainian seaports until the end of the current season (July 1). However, this issue is under intensive discussion.

“The only right way is to provide an international convoy and unblock Ukrainian ports. It was in time of WWII with mechanisms of international influence toward Germany. Today Russia is an occupant. It is avoiding this conversation by all means, so the issue remains unsolved. Thus, I do not believe the ports will be unblocked”, – he said.

Now, Ukraine can export 1.2-1.5 mln tonnes of grain per month.

“We have May and June. We can export about 3 mln tonnes in this period. About 1 mln tonnes have already been shipped. Thus, about 47 mln tonnes in total will be exported until July 1, out of 70 mln tonnes planned initially”, – M. Gorbachev forecasts.
