In January-April, Ukraine exported agricultural products at the sum of 7.42 bln USD, up 3% y/y, Mykola Pugachov deputy director of the National scientific center “Institute of Agrarian Economics at NAAS said commenting the data from the State Customs Service.

He pointed that there was a huge contrast between pre-war and was figures. Ukraine exported agricultural products at the sum of 5.676 bln USD in January-February and at the sum of only 1.744 bln USD in March-April, after the Russian invasion.

“Agricultural products remain the core of the currency inflow to Ukraine. Their share exceeded 44% in the overall exports in January-April 2022”, – he said.

Grains, oilseeds, oils and fats, residuals of food processing industry and meat products are the key products of agricultural exports and account for about 90%.

“Long-lasting Russian aggression, military activity, occupation of territories and blockage of seaports badly hurt the Ukrainian export potential. The final export figures will depend on elimination of these factors”, – M. Pugachov summarized.
