Export routes for Ukrainian grain were reoriented in May

In May, there was reorientation of export routes for grains, oilseeds and by-products in Ukraine compared to April, informed the Ministry of Agriculture on June 7.

Particularly, 798.8 thsd tonnes was exported through river ports and 22.1 thsd tonnes via ferries. Thus, river ports turned to be the key way to export Ukrainian products. 709.6 thsd tonnes of grains, vegetable oils and by-products were exported by rail.  

In May, 75% of wheat, 50% of soybean, 59% of sunflower seed and 57% of barley were exported via river ports, while 53% of corn and 56% of soybean oil were moved abroad be rail. 32% of sunflower oil were transported by roads, 28% – by rail and 35% – by rivers.

Port of Reni shipped for export 398 thsd tonnes of products in May, port of Izmail – 327.9 thsd tonnes. 260.2 thsd tonnes of grains, oilseeds and by-products were moved through border checkpoint Volodymyr-Volynskyi - Hrubieszow, and 118.05 thsd tonnes were exported through border checkpoint Chop - Zahony, Cierna nad Tisou.
