In the next 1-2 months, grain handling complexes and plots for their construction near Ukrainian western border will be offered to country’s businesses on favorable financing terms, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky stated on June 24.
According to him, at least 6-8 mln tonnes of the additional capacities are needed in the near future, but "the more the better", as shortage of capacities for storing both old and new crops may amount to 10-15 mln tonnes.
M. Solsky also added that currently the companies-owners of existing elevators on the western border of Ukraine are developing them to increase transshipment volumes. "Millions of dollars are invested", – he said.
