According to data provided to APK-Inform, Ukraine exported 18.7 mln tonnes of wheat in 2021/22 MY, up by 13% y/y.

Egypt (2.9 mln tonnes or 16%) and Indonesia (2.5 mln tonnes or 14%) remained the key importers of Ukrainian wheat last season. Egypt increased purchases by 19% y/y, and Indonesia – by 2%. Turkey more than doubled import of Ukrainian wheat to 1.9 mln tonnes, and its share in the overall export volume raised from 5% to 10%.

APK-Inform forecasts the wheat export from Ukraine to decrease by 36% to 12 mln tonnes in 2022/23 MY amid decline of crop by 39% to 52.3 mln tonnes and limited capacity of export infrastructure.
