Russian consultancy SovEcon raised its forecast of country’s wheat crop in 2022 to 94.7 mln tonnes from 90.9 mln tonnes previously expected, Interfax informed.

The forecast was raised due to record high current yield of wheat in many regions and better condition of spring wheat after rains in previous weeks, they said.

The average yield of wheat is at record 4.4 t/ha. Wheat is 48% harvested.

SovEcon upped its barley production forecast from 20.2 mln tonnes to 20.6 mln tonnes, corn – from 14.7 mln tonnes to 15.1 mln tonnes. The overall grain harvest is seen at 142.6 mln tonnes, up from 137.5 mln tonnes projected in July.

The consultancy said that record Russian crop might have limited influence on the global market, as the export has been slow so far in 2022/23 MY.
