National Oilseed Processors Association of Kazakhstan forecasts crude sunflower oil export from the country at 278 thsd tonnes in 2022/23 MY, chairman of National Oilseed Processors Association Yadykar Ibragimov said on September 15 during the international agro-industrial Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent-2022.
He said that Kazakhstan had shipped 185.2 thsd tonnes of the oil in 2021/22 MY, up from 95.3 thsd tonnes in 2020/21 MY.
The share of bottled oil totaled 30-35% in the overall export structure in the recent seasons. It will be 31% in the current season.
China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan are the main importers of Kazakh sunflower oil. Their common share exceeds 90%.
“Uzbekistan became a leading destination for Kazakh sunflower oil in the recent years, while China moved to the second place. However, we suppose that China will regain its leadership soon”, – Y. Ibragimov said.
