Transportation of Ukrainian grain by rail continues despite missile strikes and power outages, Rail.insider reports.
570 thsd tonnes of grain were loaded in December 1-7, or 28.3% of the total volume loaded.
"Unfortunately, in the first week of December there is a slight drop in loading, as there was a strike on the power system on December 5. The enterprises and railways had problems with electricity on December 5 and 6. There is limit of power provided to the railways and enterprises. Because of this, there are problems with loading and unloading", – said Valery Tkachev, deputy commercial director of state-owned railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia JSC.
He added that the situation was gradually stabilizing.
