Next year, FAO plans to help 500,000 of Ukrainian farms to restore their activities, head of Ukrainian office of FAO said on December 16.
«We helped 40,000 Ukrainian farms in 2022. In 2023, together with Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy, we plan to increase the number of farms up to 500,000 to help them to restore their activities», - he said.
He added that generally 1.5 bln of people in Ukraine required assistance to restore their farming activity.
Preliminary, FAO plans to allocate 205 mln USD for Ukrainian agricultural sector in 2023, including 100 mnl USD directly for farmers. FAO supports farms located in areas close to the frontline.
