As of December 30, Ukrainian farmers harvested grains and pulses throughout 10.6 mln ha or 92% of the planned area. Production volume reached 48.8 mln tonnes with the average yield at 4.61 t/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy informed.
Currently, farmers are harvesting late crops:
- 3.3 mln ha of corn for grain (78%; 21.4 mln tonnes, 6.46 t/ha);
- 116 thsd ha of buckwheat (98%; 158.5 thsd tonnes, 1.37 t/ha);
- 44.7 thsd ha of millet (99%; 101.8 thsd tonnes, 2.28 t/ha).
Moreover, farmers harvested 4.8 mln ha of sunflower seed area (99%). Production volume reached 10.5 mln tonnes with the yield of 2.17 t/ha. Agrarians reaped 1.52 mln ha of soybean (99%). Production volume reached 3.7 mln tonnes of with the yield of 2.43 t/ha.
Farmers harvested 9 mln tonnes of sugar beet with the yield of 50.1 t/ha reaped from 180 thsd ha (100%).
