The grain agreement, which has less than 60 days left to expire, has proven its viability, so there is currently a question of its prolongation, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar stated on January 24, Укрінформ reports.

"Now there is a question about the continuation of this initiative, since there are less than 60 days left before its completion, and this is now one of the urgent issues... This initiative has confirmed its viability", – V. Bodnar said.

At the same time, the diplomat noted that the amount of products transported through the “grain corridor” is not what we would like, as the representatives of the aggressor country in the Joint Coordination Center are constantly trying to slow down the process of vessel inspections.

"Of course, we could do much more, but today it is an effective process, and it is the only way to supply large quantities of the grain we grow", – the ambassador stated.

He also noted that the work of the “grain corridor” is one of the priorities of cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.

As a reminder, as a result of the quadrilateral negotiations organized by Turkey, the Agreement on the Black Sea Grain Corridor was extended for 120 days starting from November 19, 2022.
