Under Grain from Ukraine food program, which Ukraine implements together with the World Food Program, three additional ships are currently being prepared to deliver Ukrainian wheat to countries in need, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrasevich said on January 25.
“Now we are preparing the dispatch of three more vessels. We expect the next bulkers with wheat to go to Kenya, Yemen and Sudan. The volumes of these loadings will be 25-30 thsd tonnes”, – Dmytrosevich said.
He also reminded that a few days ago, the fourth vessel was dispatched under the initiative, which would deliver 30 thsd tonnes of wheat to Ethiopia. Generally, 110 thsd tonnes of wheat have already been shipped to the needy countries.
"African countries are most acutely in need of food and also suffer from rising food prices. The worst thing is that they suffer from its deficiency. First of all, we want to explain to them the real reason for their humanitarian crisis, and establish strong trade relations with them. For example, Kenya and Nigeria are strongky looking forward to our grain", – the deputy minister emphasized.
