In January, Ukraine exported 5.5 mln tonnes of grains, oilseeds and by-products, which is 1.3 mln tonnes less than in December, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reported on February 4.

"The downward trend is due to the artificial blocking of the "grain corridor" by Russian inspectors. As a result, only 3 mln tonnes were shipped in January under the "grain initiative", – the ministry said.

Deliveries of all agricultural crops decreased in January. Thus, corn export was cut by 700 thsd tonnes to 2.6 mln tonnes, wheat by 250 thsd tonnes to 1.3 mln tonnes.

Sunflower oil shipments totaled 347 thsd tonnes, which is 121 thsd tonnes less than in December. January deliveries of soybean totaled 345 thsd tonnes against 387 thsd tonnes month ago, meal – 295 thsd tonnes (331 thsd tonnes).

Supplies of sunflower seed decreased by 122 thsd tonnes to 190 thsd tonnes. Rapeseed supplies continue to decrease, as trade season approaches its end. In January only 186 thsd tonnes of rapeseed were shipped against 237 thsd tonnes in December.

Shipments of barley remained almost unchanged in January at 168.7 thsd tonnes against 179 thsd tonnes in December. Soybean oil export rose by 6 thsd tonnes to 26 thsd tonnes.

In January, corn accounted for 47.36% of an overall export volume, wheat – 24.23%, sunflower oil – 6.33%, soybean – 6.29%, meal – 5.38%, sunflower seed – 3.46%, rapeseed – 3.39%, barley – 3.08%, soybean oil – 0.49%.
