According to APK-Inform, the harvest of grains may amount to 45.6 mln tonnes in Ukraine in 2023, down by 13% y/y (52.6 mln tonnes in 2021/22 MY).

Taking into account the areas planted with winter crops and the prospects of spring planting campaign, it is expected that the total area under grain crops for the harvest of 2023 in Ukraine will be about 10.1 mln ha, which is 12% less than the harvested area of the previous crop. In particular, the planted area under wheat may decrease by 16% to the indicator of the harvested area in 2022, under barley by 6%, under corn by 11%.

"Taking into account the access to basic resources for farmers and climatic conditions, significant changes in the yield of grain crops are not expected. The average yield of grains and pulses is forecast at 46.5 t/ha, against 45.8 t/ha in the previous season", – analysts note.
