The European Commission approved the official proposal to extend the autonomous trade measures for Ukraine for another year, announced Yuliya Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, on February 23.

"This is the first official step towards the duty-free regime continuation. In the future, this issue will be considered by the Council of the EU, and yesterday we discussed this issue with the permanent representatives of the EU member states," she said.

Yu. Svyridenko also noted that thanks to the complete abolition of tariffs, Ukrainian business was able to increase exports to the EU during the war.

"In 2022, exports to the EU amounted to $27.9 billion. This is 63% of our exports last year," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
