New transition on Ukraine-Moldova border is to be launched on March 16

The new railway crossing on the border of Ukraine with Moldova (Berezyne-Basarabiaska) should be operational from March 16. This was stated by Volodymyr Serbinov, a representative of State Enterprise "Zaliznytsia Moldova" during a meeting with carriers from Romania and Moldova on March 14, Rail.insider reports.

According to the official, the railway of Moldova is ready to carry out cargo transportation through this border crossing, but difficulties arose with determining the weight standards. Currently, according to him, their agreement is ongoing.

"On the Berezina-Basarabyaska route, we are a little late, because we do not yet have approved weight norms that Ukrzaliznytsia must agree with us. But I think that somewhere from March 16, we should go. We are ready. It depends on Ukrzaliznytsia and the regulatory authorities," said V. Serbinov.
