In Istanbul, inspections of dry cargo vessels within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative have not been carried out for two days, said Stefan Dujarric, the representative of the UN Secretary-General, on April 18, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
"I had a telephone conversation with our colleagues from Istanbul. No inspections were conducted there either yesterday or today," said S. Dujarric at the briefing.
He also added that the Joint Coordination Center is conducting "active discussions with representatives of Ukraine and Russia" with the support of Turkey on this issue. The representative of the General Secretary called "lack of agreement between the parties" the reason for the termination of the inspections.
At the same time, S. Dujarric emphasized that the situation with the inspections "only doubles the UN's intention to ensure full implementation of the grain agreement."
