More than 21 mln tonnes of grain are planned to be harvested in Kazakhstan this year, stated the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeev, Kazinform reports.

“As for the plans for yields, this year, the planting campaign is now in full swing, and the forecast is favorable. We think that we will have a very good average annual harvest. This is about over 21 mln tonnes of grains and pulses and over 16 mln tonnes of wheat. Now we are doing everything to complete the fieldwork as soon as possible in the established agritechnical terms so that there is a good harvest,” Ye. Karashukeev said, answering journalists' questions on the sidelines of the Senate.

According to official statistics, in 2022, the gross wheat harvest in Kazakhstan amounted to 16.4 mln tonnes.

As APK-Inform reported earlier, Kazakh exporters are concerned about large carry-over grain stocks.
