In May 2023, Kazakhstan exported about 600 thsd tonnes of wheat, reported APK-Inform with reference to data from exporters.
Of this, 25 trains of grain (about 75 thsd tonnes) were sent to China.
According to official statistics, in April 2023, wheat export volumes were higher and amounted to 696.77 thsd tonnes (including 65.76 thsd tonnes to China).
In total, for the 8 months of 2022/23 MY, Kazakhstan exported 5.38 mln tonnes of wheat. Uzbekistan remains the top importer of this grain (2.69 mln tonnes).
Earlier, the officials of Kazakhstan stated that they intend to increase the volume of wheat export to China to 1 mln tonnes per year.
As reported by APK-Inform Agency, at the end of March 2023, Kazakhstan resumed wheat export to China by grain carriers. Wheat is received by 9 factories in the bonded zone of the Alashankou station, then the grain is sent by rail or road to other regions of the SUAR of the People's Republic of China.
